• Automatic Disk Configuration–This refers to a DSF that was automatically configured using the Storage
Provisioning option. This automatically creates the required RAID group on raw physical disks and configures
the DSF under the C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\PDDE_Volume mount point.
• New Deduplication Storage Folder Wizard on Drive Letter–This refers to a DSF that was created on a drive letter
in Backup Exec 2010 using the New Deduplication Storage Folder Wizard.
Recovery Of DSF
During the disaster, if the system disk survived and the disks holding the DSF were lost, follow the appropriate column in
the table below based on the method used to create the DSF. This procedure can be followed irrespective of whether
the system was protected by IDR or not.
