IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
We recommend that this performance part be installed by a qualified
motorcycle technician. If you have any doubts as to your ability to install this
performance part, please consult with your local motorcycle dealer. Read all
instructions first before starting installation. Make sure the motorcycle and
exhaust system are completely cool before starting the installation. Also,
make sure the bike is secure on a centerstand or ideally a service lift during
installation. Be sure to save all stock components for possible use later.
Installation Instructions
1. Make sure the bike is completely cool before starting the
installation. Make sure the bike is secure on a centerstand
or ideally a service lift.
2. Loosen both of the clamps near the collector on
each side.
3. Remove the stock muffler mounting bolts and remove the
stock mufflers, one at a time.
4. Slide the V.A.L.E. X-Rings over the slip-on tubes and loosely
attach to the TBR muffler canisters, using the 6x14 screws and
the supplied split lock washers. The slip-on tubes are different
- one left and one right. If the badge on the slip-on tube is upside
down, it is on the wrong side.
5. Slide the supplied muffler canister clamps over the TBR
muffler canisters.
6. Place the supplied barrel clamp around the end of the
TBR slip-on tube, and add a small bead of the included
hi-temp sealant to the inside of the slip-on tube.
7. Slide the slip-tube onto the stock collector.
8. Attach the muffler canisters to the bike using the supplied
allen bolts. The left side will require the use of a spacer
and the longer 70mm allen bolt (included) in order to
provide clearance for the chain.
9. Check to be sure that both exhausts are positioned and
aligned correctly. Once you are satisfied with the position
of the exhaust, tighten the barrel clamp, then the V.A.L.E.
X-Ring, followed lastly by the muffler canister clamp.
