M2 RETROFIT KIT, Part # 005-M2R

(Use with C2 mufflers

only)

Parts List

We recommend that this performance exhaust upgrade be

installed by a qualified motorcycle technician. If you have
any doubts as to your ability to install this exhaust upgrade,
please consult with your local motorcycle dealer. Read all
instructions first before starting installation. Make sure the
motorcycle and exhaust system are completely cool before
starting the installation. Also, make sure the bike is secure
on the sidestand or ideally a rear service stand during
installation. Be sure to save all exhaust components for
possible use later.

1. Make sure the bike is completely cool before starting the

installation. Remove the muffler from the bike.

2. Using the supplied #30 drill bit, drill out the old rivets.

3. Use a rubber/dead-blow mallet to gently tap out the outlet.

Tapping on alternate sides will help “walk” the outlet out.

4. Install Billet Outlet Cap (Red) by tapping it into the muffler

sleeve. Use a rubber or dead-blow mallet so as not to dam-
age the billet outlet cap.

>Be sure to orient the billet outlet cap correctly. The
machined line points up!

>Be sure the core is aligned before tapping into place!

5. Using the existing holes in the muffler sleeve as guides, drill

new holes into the billet outlet cap.

6. Install rivets. The large head rivets (3/8”) are for use with alu-

minum muffler sleeves, the small head rivets (1/4”) are for
use with carbon fiber, x-metal cf or titanium muffler sleeves.
For the carbon fiber, x-metal cf and titanium mufflers, you
must also reinstall the reinforcing band with the rivets.

7. Apply threadlock to the gold aluminum bolts and tighten.

8. Reinstall muffler.

9. Make sure everything is aligned and tighten all hardware.

10. Before you run the bike, clean off all fingerprints and dirt, as

any oily residue will etch the metal and become somewhat
permanent when the system gets hot. Run the bike and
enjoy. It is normal for some white smoke to appear the first
time you start the bike. This is packing/manufacturing oil from
inside the pipe burning off. Check for gaps or leaks. If you
find a leak, a little high temperature silicon sealant should fix
it. After 50 to 100 miles, recheck all fasteners for tightness.
