MX Re-pack Kits

Part # 005-10038MX

Repack all offroad canisters after every 10 hours of use. Part #005-10038MX

1. Make sure the bike is completely cool before starting

the installation. Make sure the bike is secure on a

centerstand or ideally a service lift and remove the

muffler assembly form the bike.

2. Keep the S-bend tube attached to the muffler for

ease of removal when separating the inlet from the

outer sleeve.

3. Remove the 6 retaining screws holding the inlet to

the outer sleeve. Carbon and Titanium mufflers

have a stiffening band under the retaining bolts that

will be removed also.

4. Pull the S-bend away while holding the outer sleeve

to separate them.

5. Remove contents from inside the muffler core/

packing.

6. Separate old packing from core and disguard

packing.

7. Cut new packing to muffler length.

8. Roll new packing tightly over the wire mesh covered

perferated core and secure with tape on the packing.

9. Insert the new packed core into the muffler.

10. Replace the O-ring on the inlet if necessary.

11. Make sure the core goes into the core retainer on the

outlet and inlet as you slide them together.

12. Install the 6 bolts to secure the outer sleeve with the

inlet.

13. Torque the retaining bolts to 72in. lbs.

14. Re-install muffler to the motorcycle.

15. Before you run the bike, clean off all fingerprints and

dirt, as any oily residue will etch the metal and become

somewhat permanent when the system gets hot. Run

the bike and enjoy. It is normal for some white smoke

to appear the first time you start the bike. This is

packing/manufacturing oil from inside the pipe burning

off. Check for gaps or leaks. After 1 to 2 hours of riding

recheck all fasteners for tightness.
