If the drive bay currently has a plastic filler panel instead of a drive

carrier, release the panel by squeezing the lever on the right side.

4. Pull the drive carrier out of the chassis.

Installing a Hard Drive in a Carrier

1. If a drive is already installed (that is, if you are replacing the drive), remove it

by unfastening the four screws that attach the drive to the drive carrier. (Figure

26, “A”)

Set the screws aside for use with the new drive.

2. Lift the drive out of the carrier. (“B”)

3. Install the new drive in the drive carrier (Figure 27, “A”) and secure the drive

with the four screws that come with the carrier. (“B”)
