To set the time to UTC, use the no clock set timezone global configuration command.

43.4 Validation Commands

To display the time and date configuration, use the show clock privileged EXEC
command.

DUT#show clock
13:32:00 PST Sat July 23 2001

43.5 Configuring Summer Time (Daylight Saving Time)

Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to configure summer time
(daylight saving time) in areas where it starts and ends on a particular day of the week
each year:

DUT#configure terminal

Enter the Configure mode.

DUT(config)#clock set summer-time PST
recurring 5 20 10:00:00 9 20 10:00:00 60

Configure summer time to start and end on the specified days
every year.

Summer time is disabled by default.

• For zone, specify the name of the time zone (for example, PDT)
to be displayed when summer time is in effect.

• For offset, specify the number of minutes to add during summer
time.

DUT(config)#exit

Exit the Configure mode.


To disable summer time, use the no clock summer-time global configuration command.

43.6 Validation Commands

To display the time and date configuration, use the show clock privileged EXEC
command.

DUT#show clock detail
13:32:00 PST Sat July 23 2001
Summer time starts at UTC 10:00:00 05/20/2001
Summer time ends at PST 10:00:00 09/20/2001
Summer time offset: 60 minutes
