Replacing the upper knife

To remove:
® Upper knife

Hexagon bolt

(3) Stopper pin
0 Lower knife
Turn off the power switch and unplug the machine.

Open the looper and side covers.

Turn the handwheel toward you until the upper knife

reaches its highest position.

Remove the hexagonal bolt and the upper knife.

To attach;
0 Upper knife
0 Hexagon bolt
0 Stopper pin

Lower knife

0 1/32" to 1/16" (0.8-1.5 mm)

insert new upper knife Into the groove of knife holder and

stopper pin, then tighten the hexagon bolt slightly.

Turn the handwheel toward you until the upper knife
reaches its lowest position.

Loosen the hexagon bolt and adjust the position of the

upper knife so that its blade overlaps the edge of lower
knife 1/32" to 1/16" (0.8 mm to 1.5 mm) as shown.

Then tighten the hexagon bolt firmly.

Close the looper and side covers.

Cleaning upper knife area

Turn off the power switch and unplug the machine.
Open the looper cover.

Brush the waste chips to the front with the lint brush.

• You may use a vacuum cleaner to clean the upper knife

area or feed dogs.

• The lower knife will last over one year in normal use.

However, if you run over a pin or a hard object, you may
need to replace both upper and lower knives at the
same time.
