Check the interface cable.

Check the connection of the interface cable at the printer and at the
computer. A loose interface cable can generate random errors and
error messages which could make identifying the cause of the
problem very difficult. Make sure that both connections are secure.

• Print job will not start.

Examples: No error messages displayed on the screen.

USBPRN: write error

Check to see if the printer is connected to the computer correctly.

• Print result is abnormal.

Example: Strange characters are printing. (

The printer interface cable may be damaged. Replace it with
a new interface cable and try to print again.

Check the Computer.

The problem may exist in the software application or in the
computer system.

• Print job will not execute with a particular application software.

Examples: Print job halts and will not complete. (

Only part of the document prints. (

Try printing with another software application to confirm that the
problem exists in the software application.

The printer does not print with other software applications

Make sure the printer has been selected as default printer. (☞96)
