Switching the printer on and off

1.

Before you switch the printer on, check the power lock switch on the
right side of the printer. If the power lock switch is in the left
position, slide it to the right.

When the power lock switch is in the left position, it locks the power

switch off so it cannot be switched on accidentally during transportation.

2.

To switch the printer on, press the

POWER

button.

3.

To switch the printer off, press the

POWER

button.

• The printer has an energy saving Auto Power Off feature which will

power off the printer automatically if the printer remains idle for 30

minutes. To turn this feature off, or to set the idle time interval, open

the printer driver and adjust these settings on the Control tab. For

details, refer to the

Windows Printer Driver Guide or Macintosh Printer

Driver Guide.

• Never unplug the power cord from the power outlet while the printer is

printing. If the power cord is unplugged while the printer is operating,

the cartridge holder will stop and not return to the home position. If the

cartridge holder remains out of the home position without the print

head capped, the print head will dry out and make the BJ Cartridge

unusable.

• You can also switch off the printer with the printer driver. For details,

refer to the

Windows Printer Driver Guide or Macintosh Printer Driver

Guide.
