Cannot start the print job

The printer does not respond when the print job is executed from the
computer.

Check the printer status and its cable connections

Make sure the printer is ready for printing and that the cable is
connected correctly.

Check to see if Canon BJC-55 Series printer has been
selected as the default printer

Select Canon BJC-55 Series as default printer.

Check to see if the printer port setting is correct

If the printer and the computer are connected to the USB interface,
USBPRNxx: must be selected as the printer port.

Chapter 6 Troubleshooting

Interface cable could be
defective. Replace it with a new
interface cable and resume
printing.

Make sure that the
interface cable is
connected properly.

Make sure that the
power outlet is usable
by connecting another
electrical appliance to it
and switching it on.

Make sure that the power
cable is properly plugged
into the power outlet.

Make sure that
the printer is
switched on.

If your system contains a
printer switching device, a
USB hub or an external
buffer, remove these devices
and try connecting the printer
directly to the computer.
* If the printer operates

normally without the
switching device, the USB
hub or the external buffer,
call for service.

If the orange CHARGE/
ERROR lamp is
flashing, see page 136.
