Configuring your MCC 3100 for BlackBerry

Enter the address of the primary MCG 3100 using
MCG 3100

Typical port settings are 8443 for Hypertext
Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) and 8080 for
Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). If the default
port of 8080 is in use on the Mobile Communication
Gateway 3100 (MCG 3100), then only the IP
address or FQDN is required.

Network
Connection
Use the radio buttons to select a network
connection type:
•
Internal BES: The MCC 3100 connects to the
MCG 3100 using a BlackBerry Enterprise
Server (BES) located on the enterprise
network.

External BES: The MCC 3100 connects to the
MCG 3100 using a hosted BES located on the
Internet.
•
Non BES: The MCC 3100 connects directly to
the MCG 3100 over the internet.
Note: If you are using the MCC 3100 in a non-
BES or an external-BES environment, your
system administrator may instruct you to install
a security certificate and configure the Access
Point Name (APN) parameters on your
BlackBerry device. You can use the BlackBerry
Desktop Manager to install the certificate, and
program the APN in the TCP section of your
BlackBerry’s advanced settings. Your system
administrator will provide you with detailed
instructions to complete these tasks.
