Advanced functions

To switch from manual mode (default) to automatic mode, select your

buddy, then select Enable Auto Presence. For more information, see

“Reviewing and configuring your Buddy settings” on page 40.

Note: Enable Auto Presence uses extra airtime and reduces battery

life because the MCC 3100 for BlackBerry connects to the network for

every status update.

Viewing the status of a buddy

1. Navigate to the Buddy list.

2. Scroll to a name and do one of the following:

Choose Menu, Query Presence to check the status of a buddy.

Choose Menu, Alert on Presence Change to be alerted when the

status of your buddy changes. Only the immediate change is tracked.

Viewing the status of a group of buddies

1. Navigate to the Buddy list.

2. Scroll to and highlight a group.

3. Select Menu, Query Presence.

The Buddy list updates with the current status of your buddies.

Presence status indicators

Presence can have the following states:

Available (Default)

Away

Extended Away

Busy

Do Not Disturb

On The Phone

Offline

Your off-hook status is also available with an icon.
