THE REVOLVING FIELD AC GENERATOR
BEARING CARRIER COVER:
AC Generator Disassembly
Rem ove all four long stator bolts along w ith w ashers.
Rem ove four (4) CAPSCREW S (Item 19), FLAT
W ASHERS (Hem 8), and LOCK W ASHERS (Item 7).
Then, rem ove the BEARING CARRIER COVER (Item
16) and the BEARING CARRIER GASKET (Item 14).

BRUSH HOLDERS AND BRUSHES:
Rem ove w ires from BRUSHES (Item 12). Rem ove
SCREW S (Item 13) and rem ove BRUSH HOLDERS
(Item 12) w ith brushes.
Turn the large boH at center of Bearing Carrier puller
until end of bolts is flush w Hh the puller. Retain the puller
to the Bearing Carrier w ith original Carrier Cover
screw s. Turn the large center bolt of puller until the
bearing carrier Is free of the Rotor Bearing. Com pletely
rem ove the Bearing Carrier.

REAR BEARING CARRIER:
A bearing carrier puller (Figure 4) can be used to
rem ove the Rear Bearing Carrier. Retain the puller to
the Bearing Caller using the sam e saew s that original­
ly held the Bearing Carrier Cover.
Rem ove fasteners that retain the Bearing Carrier to
the m ounting rail.
STATOR REMOVAL:
CAUTION. Use care w hen rem oving the Stator. Do
NOT allow It to drop or bum p the Rotor during
rem oval.
Free the Stator from the Blow er Housing and rem ove.
