Each CDM-840 Remote Router will send a proprietary Es/No reporting message during Steady
State operation at a minimum rate of once every 60 seconds,. Steady State operation is
defined as times when the measured Es/No of the receive carrier does not exceed 0.3 dB
variation from the last reported Es/No. During Non-steady State events, the CDM-840 will
continue to send Es/No reporting messages at a rate of approximately two per second until
Steady State conditions are again achieved. It is important to note that, in fade conditions of
less than 0.6 dB/sec, this means that consecutive two-per-second updates will not be
required.
This mechanization, along with the proper prioritization of the Es/No reporting messages,
provides a very ‘low messaging overhead’ during steady state conditions and a very reactive
response during transient conditions.
