Description

Database Connection Mode

Local
Shared

Select

Local

if you are using local disk storage and a

local FeedClip database. You have access to files on
your local machine only.

Select

Shared

if you are using shared disk storage and

a shared database. You share the Bin with all FeedClip
workstations that are part of the NewsShare network.

Use House Clock

On
Off

Check this if you want to have FeedClip use your
newsroom’s house clock to synchronize feeds.

If you turn on this option without having a house clock
connected, FeedClip uses the workstation’s system
clock for the timecode.

NTSC Timecode

SMPTE-
Drop Frame

Recommended setting to avoid the time slipping
problems associated with non-drop frame.

SMPTE

Standard format used to represent timecode.

Prompt Before File Overwrite

Check this option to receive a confirmation prompt
before overwriting existing files.

Display Time Remaining for
Playback

Off

Check this option to have FeedClip show you how
much time is remaining while playing back a clip in
the playlist.

Test for Invalid Video Server
Characters

Check this option to have FeedClip check for invalid
characters when creating files.

Invalid characters are: * \ | / < > : “ ? [ ] % & ‘

Delete Subclips When Removing
Scheduled Feeds

Check this option to allow any subclips that are
created with a scheduled feed to be deleted when the
scheduled feed is removed from the scheduler.
If unchecked, a scheduled feed will not be deleted if
any subclips are associated with the feed.

Abort Time (Hours Remaining)

N/A

Enter the amount of time (in hours) before recording
stops; FeedClip stops recording when this amount of
time is remaining for recording. The default time is
0.1.

Channel

Select the channel to name.

Record Channel Name

N/A

Enter a name for the record channel.

Playback Channel Name

N/A

Enter a name for the playback channel.
