New pictures are stored in image fi les named using a four-digit fi le number assigned by
adding one to the last fi le number used. The fi le number is displayed during playback as
shown at right. FRAME NO. controls whether fi le numbering is reset to 0001 when a new
memory card is inserted or the current memory card is formatted.

Numbering continues from the last fi le number used or the fi rst available fi le number, whichever is
higher. Choose this option to reduce the number of pictures with duplicate fi le names.

Numbering is reset to 0001 after formatting or when a new memory card is inserted.

R If the frame number reaches 999-9999, the shutter release will be disabled (P 142).

R Selecting R RESET (P 106) sets FRAME NO. to CONTINUOUS but does not reset the fi le number.
