GENERAL OPERATING TIPS
• When the engine is not running, use the system sparingly otherwise it

will run the battery down.

• When the ignition is turned to OFF, the Family Entertainment System

(FES) is also turned OFF. When the ignition is turned ON, the FES
will begin playback from the last point in the movie when the ignition
was turned off.

• To enable or disable the FES controls, simultaneously press the 3 and

5 memory presets on the radio face. When the rear seat controls are
enabled,

will appear in the radio display. The icon will disappear

when the rear seat controls are disabled.

• The DVD player is only capable of reading the bottom side of a disc.

When inserting a single sided disc, ensure that the label is up. For a
multi-sided disc, the desired play side should be down when the disc
is inserted into the player.

• The DVD player is only capable of playback of DVDs, and video/audio

CDs, and MP3 discs.

• DVDs are formatted by regions. This DVD system can only play region

1 DVDs (DVDs intended for use in U.S and Canada).

This DVD unit is designed to play commercially pressed 4.75 in
(12 cm) Video DVDs, Video CDs, Digital Audio Compact Discs
(CD-DA), enhanced CDs (these are Audio CDs that have CD-
ROM information in the second session), and recordable and
re-recordable compact discs (CD-R and CD-RW) with Digital
Audio and MP3 files. MP3 discs must be made using a specific
format. Refer to the MP3 section in this supplement.

Due to technical incompatibility and variability, certain
commercially pressed discs, recordable and re-recordable compact
discs (CD-R and CD-RW) may not function correctly when used in
Ford DVD players. The following discs are not supported : DVD
recordables (DVD +R, -R, +RW, -RW, -RAM), DVD-ROM with MP3
files or any other DVD-ROM, DVD Audio, Copy Protected CDs,
and Pre-gap CDs (these are Audio CDs that have CD-ROM
information in the first session). Irregular shaped discs, discs
with a scratch protection film attached, and discs with homemade
paper (adhesive) labels should not be inserted into Ford DVD and
CD players. The label may peel and cause the disc to become
jammed. It is recommended that homemade CDs be identified
with permanent felt tip marker rather than adhesive labels. Ball
point pens may damage discs.
