Windows 2000/XP IP Printer Port Setup
The recommended printing method is to use the LPR protocol for IP printing:

Open your Printers folder (usually Start > Settings > Printers), right-click the desired
printer and select Properties. The Properties window is displayed:
2 Select the Ports tab and click Add Port. The Printer Ports window is displayed.
3 Choose Standard TCP/IP Port and then click New Port.
