Playing from a specific
point
Locating a desired scene (item) from
the disc menu
For DVD video:
DVD Video discs generally have their own menus which
show the disc contents. These menus contain various
items such as titles of movies, names of songs, or artist
information, and display them on the TV. You can locate
a desired scene using the DVD menu.
• See the instructions of each disc for its particular
menus.
1 While a DVD Video disc is inserted, press TOP
MENU or MENU.
The menu appears on the TV.
• The
MENU button works only during playback or
pause.
2 Press 3 / 2 / ∞ / 5 to select a desired item, then
press ENTER.
The unit starts playback of the selected item.
NOTES
•Some DVD Video discs may have different menus for TOP
MENU and MENU .
•With some discs, you can select items by entering the
corresponding number using the number buttons, which may
cause the unit to automatically start playback.
For SVCD/VCD with PBC
Some SVCD/VCD discs support the PBC function. PBC is
an abbreviation of “Playback Control.” Some SVCD/VCD
discs recorded with PBC have their own menus, such as a
list of the songs of the disc. You can locate a specific
scene by using the PBC menu.
• See the instructions of each disc for its particular
menus.
1 Press 3 or TOP MENU.
Playback starts (“PBC” appears in the display window),
then a disc menu appears on the TV.
• If something like “NEXT” or “PREVIOUS” appears
on the TV, pressing NEXT ( ¢ ) advances to the
next page of the menu, and pressing PREVIOUS
( 4 ) returns to the previous page of the menu.
2 Press the number buttons to select the desired item.
The unit starts playback of the selected item.
• Examples:To select 5: press
5 .
To select 10: press 1 , then 0 .
To select 23: press 2 , then 3 .
To return to the menu, press RETURN .
• When using the buttons on the unit, make sure that
the DVD lamp on the unit is lit. If not, press DVD/
HDD so that the DVD lamp lights.
• When using the remote control, slide the DVD/TV/
HDD selector to the left ( DVD ), then press ENTER .
