23. MAINTENANCE

The inherent quality of the solid-state components used in this transceiver will provide many
years of continuous use. Taking the following precautions will prevent damage to the
transceiver.

Keep the microphone connected or the jack covered at all times to prevent corrosion
of electrical contacts;
Never key the microphone unless an antenna or suitable dummy load is connected to
the transceiver.
Ensure that the supply voltage to the transceiver does not exceed 16 VDC or fall below
11 VDC.
Use only STANDARD HORIZON-approved accessories and replacement parts.

In the unlikely event of serious problems, please contact your Dealer or our repair facility.

in section “25 WARRANTY.”

Occasionally an owner needs a replacement mounting bracket or knob.
