2.4.1

Power Failure Transfer

Description

When the power supply to the PBX fails, specific SLTs and/or ISDN terminal devices are
automatically connected to specific trunks (Auxiliary Connections). The PBX will switch from
the current connections to Auxiliary Connections, and all existing conversations will be
disconnected.
Only the trunk conversations handled by Auxiliary Connections can be made during a power
failure.

Conditions

The analogue trunk cards and extension cards and the number of ports which can be used
for Auxiliary Connections are as follows:
Trunk Cards: LCOT16 (four ports) and LCOT8 (two ports)
Extension Cards: MSLC16 (four ports), SLC16 (four ports), DHLC8 (two ports) and SLC8
(two ports).
To one trunk card, connect only one extension card.

Note

Auxiliary Connections between analogue trunk cards and extension cards should be done
as per system programming so that conversation is maintained when the power is restored
and the MPR is recovering.

The BRI8 (one port) and BRI4 (one port) cards can also be used for Auxiliary Connections.
For details about connection of Auxiliary Connections, refer to the Installation Manual.

Only the trunk conversations can operate during a power failure. All other features do not
work.

DC Power Source
If the DC power is available from the backup batteries even if the AC power fails, the PBX
will remain fully operational and keep the current connections, not the Auxiliary
Connections.
