7.2 Adjustment without medium

For the "

Adjustment without medium“, two

anticipated values (pressure or distance)
that correspond to 0 % and 100 % must be
entered.

Depending on the sensor type used, the
adjustment can be carried out in bar or m.

The menu item "Offset correction“ is activated
when connecting hydrostatic pressure trans-
mitters. The offset correction should be car-
ried out after installation of the sensors,
because the outputted sensor values can
differ slightly with various installation posi-
tions (vertical or horizontal mounting). With
offset correction, the measured data of an
unpressurized sensor (vessel empty) are
detected as a corrective value and taken into
account in all subsequent measurements.

Adjustment example

You know the data of the vessel, i.e. you
know that at 0 % filling the distance of the
liquid to the sensor is 3.5 m and at 100 %
filling 0.3 m.

In this menu item you choose the
adjustment unit, e.g. m (d), if you use
a radar sensor [m (d) = distance in
m]. Use the [+] and [–] key, to

choose the unit and [OK] to save the se-
lected unit.

Enter in these two menu items the
distance values (d1 and d2). With the
[+] and [–] keys you set the values,
with [OK] you save them.

Note that in this example, a lower
distance value exists at 100 % filling
than at 0 % filling!
