3) Connect the other end of the cable to the serial port of the user’s computer.
4) Run a terminal emulator program (i.e. HyperTerminal). Set up the serial configuration
parameters of the terminal emulation program as follows:
 9600 Baud rate
 Data bits 8
 Parity None
 Stop bits 1
 No flow control
5) Press the [ENTER] key.
6) Enter your user name and password to log into the Super Series. The factory default user
settings are as follows.
Login: root Password: root
Login: admin Password: admin

7) Upon authentication, the CLI are initially provided for configuration. For details on the CLI,
refer to the chapter 8. CLI Guide.
8) “ss.edit” command will allow you to enter the text-menu driven interface and the menu
screen in Figure 2-15 is displayed.
