This type of trigger comes handy, when used in RUN mode, to test inspection parameters: this way,
you will see how the controls are run directly on the images acquired by the sensor.

8.3. Controls for the inspection

These controls play a key role in the inspection process: they are used to perform controls and
measurement on acquired images. Entering the controls is an operating step of the inspection.

Most of these tools are positioned graphically on the work area using the mouse. When you create a
control, the control panel displays the whole set of configuration parameters with their default values
expressed in pixels. Positioning and sizing may be performed by changing these numeric parameters.

The application of one of these tools provides two types of results:

• numeric value;

• status:

o

Pass : control gave a positive outcome

o

Fail: control gave a negative outcome or control/measurement could not be performed

If you set a control for the verification of an area, possible state/outcome may be:

Pass, if the measurement of the area was found to conform to set specifications;

Fail, if such measurement does not meet specifications or could not be taken.

The target area for the controls may cover the whole image or be limited to the so-called ROI (region
of interest), i.e. just a portion of the acquired image, which benefits speed and evaluation accuracy.
During the inspection, the area outside the ROI is ignored, although it is displayed in the work area.
