Please note that different parameters are available in the STANDARD and EXPERT modes:

Name : Name assigned to control in Inspection Explorer. Maximum length is 256 characters;

Status : see "Result" further below;

Counts limits : Lets you specify the minimum and maximum number of edges that can be detected;

o

Min, Max: These parameters let you specify the minimum and maximum number of edges

that can be detected. These thresholds must be compatible with the value found (shown in
the "Found" bar). This means Min must be less than or equal to "Found", and Max must be
greater than or equal to "Found".

Sensitivity: This is the degree of accuracy provided when searching for the edges. Set sensitivity

affects processing results: the lower the sensitivity, the greater the accuracy, hence, the more edges
will be found.

Variation Type : Determines how an edge point is to be identified during image scanning. Possible

values are:

o

White to Black: point is treated as an edge point when a white-to-black transition is detected;

o

Black to White: point is treated as an edge point when a black-to-white transition is detected;

o

Both: point is labelled as edge point at both white-to-black and black-to-white transitions;

o

Auto: automatic edge point recognition.

Noise reject : Reduces noise in the edge identification process. The threshold is a function of the first

derivative and establishes the minimum brightness variation for a point to be considered as an edge
point;

Direction: Determines the search direction and versus. Possible values are:

o

Left to right;

o

Right to left;

o

Up to down;

o

Down to up.

Delete : Deletes control from inspection.







Result

Graphically displayed by the Status indicator; shows control result:

o

: system detected some edges in the acquired image and their number is within the

range set in "Match limits" ;

o

: system found no edges or their number is outside the specified limits.
