Symbols Used in this Manual
When programming in the field, certain characters are most conveniently represented by
their hexadecimal rather than their ASCII values. The table below shows the hexadecimal
equivalent of each ASCII character:

The X/ values defined in this section are the variables used in the fields of the command
response table .
X! — Audio Inputs (1-5)
1 and 2 = Digital audio, optical input
3 and 4 = Digital audio, coaxial input
5 = Analog input
X@ — Audio Outputs (1-8)
1 = Left Front
2 = Center
3 = Right Front
4 = Left Surround
5 = Right Surround
6 = Left Back
7 = Right Back
8 = Subwoofer
X# — Status
0 = Off
1 = On
X$ — Volume Output Mode
0 = Fixed (volume no attenuation)
1 = Variable (default)
X% — Bass and treble adjustment range in dB -10 to +10 dB in 1 dB increments (default
0 dB)
