CAUTION:
÷ Do not play from a DAT, CD, MD or DCC source in a

programmed playback mode, as this may lead to incorrect
writing of the track numbers. If programmed playback of
the source is required, record each track separately using
the 1-Track Synchro recording mode.

This operation automatically performs finalization after all-track
recording. Finalization is the final process in recording a CD-R
disc that makes it playable on standard CD players. (CD-RW
discs, whether finalized or not, can only be played back on a
CD-RW disc player.) Refer to page 86 for details.

1

Perform steps 1 to 4 of “ALL-TRACK
RECORDING” on page 58.

2

In step 4 on page 58, set the recorder to ALL-
TRACK RECORDING (the SYNC indicator blinks)
and press the FINALIZE button so that the
FINALIZE indicator starts blinking.

÷ To cancel automatic finalization, press the FINALIZE button

once again so that the FINALIZE indicator goes out (mode
will revert to ALL-track synchro).

3

When playback of the source is started, ALL-track
synchro recording starts.

4

If there is no sound for more than 1 minute
during ALL-TRACK SYNCHRO RECORDING, the
recorder assumes that the recording has
stopped and finalization begins automatically.

÷ The finalize-standby mode can be canceled by pressing the

7 button or FINALIZE button while the unit is in the finalize-
standby mode.

÷ Operation buttons do not respond once finalization has

begun.

÷ Never turn the power off during finalization!

÷ System operation stops automatically without performing

finalization when no more recording time remains or when
there are 99 or more tracks.
