The pair is prepared for the delta resync
operation. When the status of the primary data

HOLD

volume is HOLD, the write data for the XP
Continuous Access Synchronous S-VOL is stored
in the master journal volume.

Only the delta resync, releasing, or the
changing pair option operation is allowed on
the pairs in HOLD status.

If the environment of the delta resync operation
to support remote command devices is used,
this status indicates that the conditions to
successfully execute the delta resync operation
are satisfied.

a delta resync operation, a releasing operation,

This status is displayed when the environment
of the delta resync operation to support remote
command devices is used.

If you execute the delta resync operation on a

An error occurred on the pair in HOLD status.
When the status of the primary data volume is

HLDE

HLDE, the write data for the XP Continuous
Access Synchronous S-VOL is not stored in the
master journal volume.

Only the recovering pair status to standby
(HOLD), releasing, or the changing pair option
operation is allowed on the pairs in HLDE
status.

*1: Whether you can access the primary data volume depends on the status of the XP Continuous
Access Synchronous pair that shares the volume.

*2: The secondary data volume of the XP Continuous Access Journal pair in HOLD status uses two
mirrors. Whether you can access the secondary data volume depends on the status of the mirror
whose status is not HOLD. If the 3DC configuration of three XP Continuous Access Journal sites,
the host cannot write data regardless of the status of the mirror whose status is not HOLD.

*3: Remember that the host cannot write data to the XP Continuous Access Journal primary data
volume that belongs to the journal group that was registered when the system option mode 707
is set to ON. For information about the system option mode 707 is set to ON, see

“XP Continuous
