Assign the remote command device to the mirror IDs of two XP Continuous Access Journal
pairs on the XP Continuous Access Journal primary site.

10. Assign the remote command device to the mirror IDs on two secondary sites. Additionally,

assign the remote command device to the mirror ID of the XP Continuous Access Journal pair
for delta resync operation.

If you delete the XP Continuous Access Journal pair created in

Step 4

or

, the XP Continuous

Access Journal pair created in

Step 8

will be also deleted.

Restrictions about 3DC Multi-target Configuration

This section provides important information need for setting the system option mode 767 to ON,
building a 3DC multi-target configuration, and using XP Continuous Access Journal pairs.

Setting of the System Option Mode 767

If you set the system option mode 767 to ON, you can register two mirrors on a journal group.

OFF: Two mirrors cannot be registered in the journal group. The default setting is OFF.

ON: Two mirrors can be registered in the journal group.

The system option mode 767 is enabled when you register the XP Continuous Access Journal
journal group. Even if you change the setting of the option mode after registering the journal group,
the former setting, which was effective when you register the group, is always applied. To change
the setting, delete the journal group, change the setting, and then register the journal group again.
The system option mode 767 and the system option mode 707 cannot be enabled at a time. Set
the system option mode 707 to OFF before registering the journal group.

System option mode 767 and system option mode 707 cannot be enabled at the same time. Set
system option mode 707 to OFF before registering the journal group. However, you will not be
able to register a new journal group for the 2DC configuration of Continuous Access Journal and
Continuous Access Sync if you set system option mode 707 to OFF.

Notes on XP Continuous Access Journal pair operations

Up to 4096 pairs can be registered in one mirror.

Virtual volumes of Dynamic Provisioning cannot be used as primary data volumes and
secondary data volumes.

LUSE volumes cannot be used as primary data volumes and secondary data volumes.
