Displaying Disk Defects

The

disk defect

attribute indicates the following:

The total number and location of primary defects on a disk.
Primary defects are disk defects that originate during the
manufacturing of a disk.

To display the location and number of primary defects on a
disk connected to your RAID controller, use the

disk show

defects

command. The following example shows the output

Value

Meaning

DOS

The SCSI device was prepared for use
with DOS partitions.

Initialized

The SCSI device was prepared (initialized)
for use with containers. This is the value
that appears in the example.

Not initialized

The SCSI device was not prepared
(initialized) for use with containers

Offline

The SCSI device was present at boot time;
however, the device is either removed
from the controller or it failed.

Unknown

The SCSI device is not owned by the
controller.
