PPRC Host Software Functions
Siz supports the PPRC host software functions, including TSO PPRC commands and ICKDSF PPRCOPY
commands. Siz pairs can be added, split, resynched, and deleted using these PPRC commands.
Chapter 5 on page 99 describes and provides instructions for using PPRC commands to create and
maintain Siz volume pairs on the Disk Arrays.
Compatible Mirroring for IBMFlashCopy also supports the TSO PPRC commands and DFSMSdss
commands. XP for FlashCopy Mirroring Software pairs can be established by defining “relationship”
using TSO PPRC or DFSMSdss commands. For more information, see the Hitachi FlashCopy User’s Guide.

Requirements for Using Hitachi ShadowImage™ for z/OS
Hitachi ShadowImage for z/OS operations provide storage system-internal copies of IBM System
z logical volume images (LVIs) on the storage system. Table 1 on page 22 lists and describes the
operational requirements for the use of Siz.
