Figure 33 Set Reserve Attribute Dialog Box (Reserve)

The Set Reserve Attribute dialog box displays the unreserved simplex volume(s) that you selected on

the Siz main window.
The OK button allows you to set the reserve attribute for unreserved volume(s).

NOTE:

The setting(s) are displayed in the Preset List on the Siz main window. The Cancel button closes the Set

Reserve Attribute dialog box without reflecting the settings. To apply the settings to the HP StorageWorks

XP12000 storage system, click the Apply button on the Siz main window.

To reserve one or more volumes for use as Siz T-VOLs (by setting the reserve attribute):

1.

From the host, set the volume(s) that you are reserving to offline. The HP StorageWorks XP12000

storage system rejects all read/write I/Os to reserved volumes (except when in the split status).

2.

On the Siz main window, select the desired CU image or LDEV in the Tree.

3.

Display unreserved simplex volumes in the Volume List (e.g., to display unreserved simplex

volumes, clear the Reserve and Pair check boxes, and click the Non-Pair check box on the

Display Filter dialog box).

4.

Select the desired volume(s), right-click the mouse to display the pop-up menu, and then click

the Change Reserve command. The Set Reserve Attribute dialog box opens. If the Change

Reserve command is not enabled, you selected paired volumes. Select only unreserved and

unpaired simplex volumes.

5.

On the Set Reserve Attribute dialog box, select the volume(s) you want to reserve, and then click

the OK button. The setting is reflected in the Preset List box on the Siz main window.

6.

On the Siz main window, click the Apply button.

7.

Verify that the settings are reflected in the HP StorageWorks XP12000 storage system.

NOTE:

You can check whether the attribute setting is updated or not on the Display Filter dialog box. To open

the Display Filter dialog box, click the Display Filter button.

for (i.e., unreserve) the volume(s) selected on the Siz main window. To open the Reset Reserve Attribute
