[COLOR] INK CARTRIDGE
MISSING

The printer cannot detect the
ink cartridge because it is
missing, improperly installed,
or defective.

Open the ink cartridge door
and see whether the cartridge
is missing, improperly
installed, or the wrong
cartridge. If none of these
situations exists, replace the
cartridge.

[COLOR] PRINTHEAD
MISSING

The printer cannot detect the
ink printhead because it is
missing, improperly installed,
or defective.

Open the printhead door and
see whether the cartridge is
missing, improperly installed,
or the wrong printhead. If none
of these situations exists,
replace the printhead.If the
error persists, call HP.

AUTO-ALIGNMENT IN
PROGRESS

The printer is aligning the
printheads.

Follow the instructions in the
printer message.

BAD INK CARTRIDGE OR
PRINTHEAD

The printer detects a faulty ink
cartridge or printhead.

Follow the instructions in the
printer message.

CANCELLING JOB

The printer is canceling the
current print job.

No action required

CHECK PAPER ALIGNED
CORRECTLY IN TRAY

The paper loaded in the tray is
incorrectly loaded or is
skewed.

Open the tray and make sure
the paper is stacked correctly.

CLOSE ALL COVERS

The printer will not print until
all access covers are properly
closed.

Follow the instructions in the
printer message.

INSUFFICIENT MEMORY

The printer is out of memory
and cannot print the current
job.

Cancel the current print job,
and add additional memory, or
reduce the complexity of the
document you are trying to
print.

LOAD MEDIA: [TRAY]
[MEDIA SIZE] [MEDIA
TYPE]

Printer requires media of a
specific type and size to be
loaded in specified paper tray.

Follow the instructions in the
printer message.

NO AUTO-DUPLEX/REAR
MANUAL FEED

An HP Auto-Duplex Unit or the
rear manual feed is not
installed in the printer. Printing
cannot continue until one of
these units is installed in the
back of the printer.

Install the HP Auto-Duplex
Unit or the rear manual feed in
the back of the printer. If one
of these units is installed,
make sure it is properly
inserted.
