Configuring Port Settings

Before you configure port settings, first verify that the KVM adapter cable for
the port you wish to configure is connected to the correct KVM port on the back
panel of the KVM switch; otherwise, settings will not be saved. The fields in
the lower section of the Port Management Webpage are described in the table
below.

Description

Port Note

Enter a unique name or comment that will identify the port. The port
note will appear on the Port Status and Port Select Webpages, in
the KM0832 tree next to the computer icon, and in the OSD.

Note: Adding spaces to the port note will cause it to display on
multiple lines in the tree in some Web browsers.

Š

If a matrix KVM switch station is connected to the port, the port
note cannot be changed.

Š

If a KVM adapter cable is connected to the port, the name change

is delivered to the KVM adapter cable.

If nothing is connected, the port note can be changed; however,
when the station is powered off the port note will be lost.
