About the Share Window

The central tool for the Share feature is the Share window. For a given Share export
session, you can add or remove any number of outputs.

Individual outputs in the Share window include the following controls.

Output Type

Filename field

Add Output and Remove
Output buttons

Action checkbox (present only
for some output types)

Show Info button

Destination Folder pop-up menu: Use this pop-up menu to navigate to your chosen

destination folder or open the mounted volume for the output media files.

Choose button: Use this button to open a dialog to locate and select the destination

folder for the output media files. (This is an alternative to the Destination Folder pop-up
menu.)

Output Type pop-up menu: Use this pop-up menu to choose the type of output media

file. The choices are Apple TV, Blu-ray, DVD, iPhone, iPod, MobileMe, YouTube,
Apple ProRes 422, Apple ProRes with Alpha, QuickTime H.264, and Other.

Outputs: Each output represents a separate media file that will be generated from the

current selection in Final Cut Pro. For example, in Final Cut Pro, you can select a clip
and then create an iPod version, burn a DVD, and upload a copy to YouTube, all from
the same source clip, and all at the same time. For more information about creating
multiple outputs, see

“Creating Multiple Outputs.”
