There are two ways you can use the Share feature with Compressor:

• Use the Send to Compressor feature to open the Share export session in Compressor.

• Use the Other output type to access preexisting Compressor settings.

Sending Outputs to Compressor

You can tap the advanced transcoding features in Compressor by sending one or more
Share outputs to Compressor. Clicking the Send to Compressor button opens a batch in
Compressor based on all the current Share window outputs (and their applied settings).
This allows you to use the advanced transcoding features in Compressor to complete the
export session. You can use default Apple settings or create custom settings for future
Share exports. For information about using Compressor, see the Compressor User Manual,
available in Compressor Help.

To send one or more Share outputs to Compressor

1

Follow the steps for exporting single clips and sequences or groups of clips and sequences.
For more information, see

“Exporting Single Clips and Sequences with Share”

and

“Exporting Groups of Clips and Sequences with Share.”

2

In the final step, click the Send to Compressor button (instead of Export).

Compressor opens with a new batch containing the outputs from the Share window.

Using the Other Output Type to Access Compressor Settings

From within any Share export session, you can access the complete collection of over
one hundred Apple (preset) settings as well as any custom settings you create. Additionally,
you can add any Apple or custom Compressor settings or settings groups to the Share
window for future Share export sessions.

For complete instructions, see

“Using Share to Create Other Output Types.”

For more information about Compressor settings, see the Compressor User Manual, available
in Compressor Help.
