The cruise control feature can be used for

forw ard travel only.

SYSTEM CHARACTERISTICS

The cruise control should only be used

w hile m ow ing or transporting on relatively

sm ooth, straight surfaces. O ther condi­

tions such as trim m ing at slow speeds

m ay cause the cruise control to disen­

gage. Do not use the cruise control on

slopes, rough terrian or w hile trim m im g or

turning.

• W ith forward drive pedal (K) depressed

to desired speed, pull cruise control

lever (J) up and hold w hile lifting your

foot off the pedal, then release the lever.

To disengage the cruise control, depress

the brake pedal or tap on forw ard drive

pedal.

TO ADJUST MOWER CUTTING HEIGHT

The position of the attachm ent lift lever (A)

determ ines the cutting height.

• Put attachm ent lift lever in desired cut­

ting height slot.

The cutting height range is approxim ate­

ly 1" to 4". The heights are m easured

from the ground to the blade tip with the

engine not running. These heights are ap­

proxim ate and m ay vary depending upon

soil conditions, height of grass and types

of grass being m ow ed.

The average law n should be cut to ap­

proxim ately 2-1/2 inches during the cool

season and to over 3 inches during hot

m onths. For healthier and better looking

law ns, m ow often and after m oderate growth.

• For best cutting perform ance, grass

over 6 inches in height should be

m ow ed twice. M ake the first cut rela­

tively high; the second to desired height.

TO ADJUST GAUGE WHEELS

G auge w heels are properly adjusted

w hen they are slightly off the ground w hen

m ow er is at the desired cutting height in

operating position. Gauge w heels then

keep the deck in proper position to help

prevent scalping in m ost terrain condi­

tions.

NOTE:

Adjust gauge w heels with tractor

on a flat level surface.

W ith m ow er in desired height of cut

position, gauge wheels should be

assem bled so they are slightly off the

ground. Install gauge w heel in appro­

priate hole. Tighten securely.

Repeat for all, installing gauge w heel

in sam e adjustm ent hole.

TO OPERATE MOWER

Your tractor is equipped with an operator

presence sensing switch. Any attem pt

by the operator to leave the seat w ith the

engine running and the attachm ent clutch

engaged w ill shut off the engine. You m ust

rem ain fully and centrally positioned in the

seat to prevent the engine from hesitating

or cutting off w hen operating your equip­

m ent on rough, rolling terrain or hills.

1. Select desired height of cut w ith at­

tachm ent lift lever.

2. Start m ower blades by engaging at­

tachm ent clutch control.
