TO LEVEL MOWER

M ake sure

tires

are properly inflated to

the PSI shown on tires. If tires are over

or under inflated, it m ay affect the appear­
ance of your law n and lead you to think

the m ow er is not adjusted properly.

VISUAL SIDE-TO -SIDE ADJUSTM ENT

1. W ith all tires properly inflated and if

your law n appears unevenly cut, de­
term ine w hich side of m ow er is cutting

low er.

2.

W ith a 3/4" or adjustable w rench, turn

lift link adjustm ent nut (A) to the left to
low er LH side of m ow er, or, to the right

to raise LH side of m ow er.

NOTE:

Each full turn of adjustm ent nut w ill

change m ow er height about 3/16".

3. Test your adjustm ent by m ow ing som e

uncut grass and visually checking the
appearance. Readjust, if necessary,
until you are satisfied w ith the results.

PRECISIO N SIDE-TO -SIDE

ADJUSTM ENT

1. W ith all tires properly inflated, park

tractor on level ground or drivew ay.

CAUTION:

Blades are sharp. Protect

your hands w ith gloves and/or wrap blade
w ith heavy cloth.

Raise m ow er to its highest position.

3. At both sides of m ow er, position blade

at side and m easure the distance

(A) from bottom edge of blade to the

ground. The distance should be the

sam e on both sides.

If adjustm ent is necessary, see step

2 in Visual Adjustm ent instructions
above.

Recheck m easurem ents, adjust if nec­

essary until both sides are equal.

FRO NT-TO-BACK ADJUSTM ENT

IMPORTANT:

Deck m ust be level side-

to-side.
To obtain the best cutting results, the

m ow er blades should be adjusted so the

front tip is 1/8" to 1/2" low er than the rear
tip w hen the m ow er is in its highest posi­
tion.

CAUTION:

Blades are sharp. Protect

your hands w ith gloves and/or wrap blade
w ith heavy cloth.
• Raise m ow er to highest position.
• Position any blade so the tip is pointing

straight forw ard. M easure distance (B)

to the ground at front and rear tip of the

blade.

• If front tip of blade is not 1/8" to 1/2"

low er than the rear tip, go to the front of

tractor.

• W ith an 11/16" or adjustable w rench,

loosen jam nut A several turns to clear
adjustm ent nut B.

W ith a 3/4" or adjustable w rench, turn

front link adjustm ent nut (B) clockw ise

(tighten) to raise the front of m ow er, or,

counterclockwise (loosen) to low er the

front m ow er.

NOTE:

Each full turn of the adjustm ent

nut w ill change m ow er height about 1/8".

Recheck m easurem ents, adjust if nec­

essary until front tip of blade is 1/8" to

1/2" low er than the rear tip.

• Hold adjustm ent nut in position with

w rench and tighten jam nut securely
against adjustm ent nut.
