ASSEMBLY/PRE-OPERATION

Your new tractor has been assem bled at

unassem bled for shipping purposes.

W hen right or left hand is m entioned in

this m anual, it m eans, from your point of

view , w hen you are in the operating posi­

tion (seated behind the steering w heel).

TO REMOVE TRACTOR FROM
CARTON

UNPACK CARTON

1. Cut along dashed lines on all four pan­

els of carton. Rem ove end panels and

lay side panels flat.

2.

Rem ove protective m aterials from trac­

tor hood and grille.

IMPORTANT:

Check for and rem ove any

staples in skid that m ay puncture tires

w here tractor is to roll off skid.

CHECK BATTERY

1. Lift hood to raised position.

NOTE:

If this battery is put into service

after m onth and year indicated on label

(L) (label is located between term inals)

charge battery for m inim um of one hour at

6-10 am ps. (See "BATTERY" in M ainte­

nance section of this m anual for charging

instructions).

the factory w ith the exception of those parts left

ADJUST SEAT

1. Sit in seat.

2. Lift up adjustm ent lever (A) and slide

seat until a com fortable position is

reached which allow s you to press

clutch/brake pedal all the w ay dow n.

3.

Release lever to lock seat in position.

NOTE:

You m ay now roll your tractor off

the skid. Follow the appropriate instruction

below to rem ove the tractor from the skid.

WARNING:

Before starting, read, un­

derstand and follow all instructions in the

O peration section of this m anual. Be sure

tractor is in a w ell-ventilated area. Be sure

the area in front of tractor is clear of other

people and objects.

TO ROLL TRACTOR OFF SKID

(See Operation section for location

and function of controls)

1. Raise attachm ent lift lever to its high­

est position.

2.

Release parking brake by depressing

brake pedal.

3.

Place freew heel control in disengaged

position to disengage transm ission

(See “TO TRANSPO RT” in the O pera­

tion section of this m anual).

4.

Roll tractor forward off skid.

5.

Rem ove banding holding the deflector

shield up against tractor.
