MOWING TIPS

• Tire chains cannot be used w hen

the

m ow er housing is attached to tractor.

• M ow er should be properly leveled for

best m ow ing perform ance. See “TO

LEVEL M O W ER HO USING ” in the

Service and Adjustm ents section of this

m anual.

• The left hand side of m ow er should be

used for trim m ing.

• Drive so that clippings are discharged

onto the area that has already been

cut. Have the cut area to the right of

the tractor. This will result in a m ore

even distribution of clippings and m ore

uniform cutting.

• W hen m ow ing large areas, start by

turning to the right so that clippings w ill

discharge aw ay from shrubs, fences,

drivew ays, etc. After one or tw o rounds,

m ow in the opposite direction m aking

left hand turns until finished .

If grass is extrem ely tall, it should be

m ow ed twice to reduce load and pos­

sible fire hazard from dried clippings.

M ake first cut relatively high; the second

to the desired height.

Do not m ow grass when it is w et.

W et grass w ill plug m ower and leave

undesirable clum ps. Allow grass to dry

before m ow ing.

Always operate engine at full throttle
when mowing to

assure better m ow ing

perform ance and proper discharge of

m aterial. Regulate ground speed by

selecting a low enough speed to give

the m ow er cutting perform ance as w ell

as the quality of cut desired.

W hen operating attachm ents, select a

ground speed that w ill suit the terrain

and give best perform ance of the at­

tachm ent being used.
