REPLACING BATTERY

WARNING:

Do

not

short battery ter­

m inals by allowing a w rench or any other

object to contact both term inals at the

sam e tim e. Before connecting battery, re­

m ove m etal bracelets, w ristwatch bands,

rings, etc.

Positive term inal m ust be connected

first to prevent sparking from accidental

grounding.

1. Lift hood to raised position.

2.

Disconnect BLACK battery cable first

then RED battery cable and carefully

rem ove battery from tractor.

3. Install new battery w ith term inals in

sam e position as old battery.

4. First connect RED battery cable to

positive (+) term inal w ith hex bolt and

keps nut as show n. Tighten securely.

Slide term inal cover over term inal.

5. Connect BLACK grounding cable

to negative (-) term inal w ith rem ain­

ing hex bolt and keps nut. Tighten

securely.

6. Close hood.

TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT BULB

1. Raise hood.

2.

Rem ove bulb holder from the hole in

the backside of the grill.

3.

Replace bulb in holder and install bulb

holder securely back into the hole in

the backside of the grill.

4. Close hood.

INTERLOCKS AND RELAYS

Loose or dam aged w iring m ay cause

your tractor to run poorly, stop running, or

prevent it from starting.

• Check w iring. See electrical wiring

diagram in the Repair Parts m anual.

TO REPLACE FUSE

Replace with 30 am p autom otive-type

plug-in fuse. The fuse holder is located

behind the dash.

Raise hood.

Unsnap headlight w ire connector.

Stand in front of tractor. G rasp hood at

sides, tilt toward engine and lift off of

tractor.

W hen replacing hood, be sure to re­

connect the headlight w ire connector.
