STEP 2 - PREPARING THE COFFEE

Place the 1 or 2 cup fi lter into the Filter
Holder (use the smaller fi lter for 1 cup and
the larger fi lter for 2 cups). Or for producing
a larger extraction for a mug of coff ee
always use the 2 cup fi lter and only extract
60ml. Should you require a larger coff ee,
add the hot water fi rst and then extract the
coff ee.

When using a 1 cup fi lter holder, for
optimum fl avour, you should only extract
approximately 30ml. When using a 2 cup
fi lter holder, for optimum fl avour, you
should only extract approximately 60ml.

Use 1 level measure of ground espresso
coff ee for the 1 cup fi lter and 2 level
measures for the 2 cup fi lter. It is important
to use the correct amount of coff ee for
each Filter as the fi lter perforations have
been constructed to utilise the pressure
in the machine to extract optimal fl avour
with each brewing. (Refer to The Grind on
Page 21).

STEP 3 - TAMPING THE COFFEE

Distribute the coff ee evenly in the Filter
and press down lightly with the tamping
end of the measuring spoon (Refer to
Coff ee Making Tips on Page 21).

Clean any excess coff ee from the rim of the
Filter holder to ensure a proper fi t into the
Brew Head.
