TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSES WHAT TO DO
Coff ee does not run through Machine is not turned on or plugged in
Ensure the machine is plugged in, switched on at the power
outlet and the ‘on/off ’ button is in the ‘on’ position.
Water tank is empty Refer to step 1 – Filling the water tank on page 13.
Selector Control not in ‘Espresso’ position Turn the selector control to the ‘Espresso’ position.
Coff ee grind is too fi ne
Ensure you use a suitable espresso grind. Refer to ‘The Grind’ on
page 21.
Too much coff ee in the fi lter Refer to ‘Preparing the coff ee’ on page 14.
Coff ee tamped too fi rmly Refer to ‘Tamping the coff ee’ on page 14.
The fi lter is blocked
Use the fi ne pin on the cleaning tool to clear the holes. Please
refer to ‘Cleaning the fi lters’ on page 26.
Coff ee runs out too quickly The coff ee grind is too coarse
Ensure you use a suitable espresso grind. Refer to ‘The Grind’ on
page 21.
Not enough coff ee in the fi lter Refer to ‘Preparing the coff ee’ on page 14.
Coff ee not tamped fi rmly enough Refer to ‘Preparing the coff ee’ on page 14.
