Threading the Machine

• Threading the machine

* Raise the thread take-up lever to its highest position by

turning the handwheel counterclockwise.

* Raise the presser foot lifter.
* Place a spool on the spool pin, with the thread coming

off as shown.

[T| Draw the end of the thread around the upper thread guide.

While holding the thread near the spool, draw the end of
the thread down around the check spring holder.

Firmly draw the thread up from right to left over the

take-up lever, and down into the take-up lever eye.

[5 Slide the thread behind the needle bar thread guide on

the left.

^Thread the needle from front to back, or use a needle

threader.

Q] Pull the handwheel out to the right. Lower the presser

foot. Raise the needle to its highest position. Pul! down
the needle threader knob as far as it will go.

[^Turn the knob in the direction of the arrow in the

illustration, and insert the hook(2)into the needle eye.
Lead the thread around the guided)and under the
hook (2).

d]Turn the knob in the direction of the arrow in the

illustration, drawing the thread loop through the needle.

Paying close attention to the needie point, draw the

thread through the needie eye. You will find it helpful to

use a pointed instrument, such as the seam ripper tip, to

draw the thread through the needle eye. Push in the hand
wheel and prepare to sew.

The needie threader can be used with a #11 to #16

needle, or a #11 Blue needie.

Thread size 50 to 100 is recommended.
