EAN-13
The EAN-13 database key must be made up of all 13 digits in the barcode (including the
Mod check digit). When a 2 or 5 digit addendum is scanned, these additional digits must be
appended to the end of the database key.
EAN-8
The EAN-8 database key must be made up of all 8 digits in the barcode (including the Mod
check digit). When a 2 or 5 digit addendum is scanned, these additional digits must be
appended to the end of the database key.
Code 3 of 9
The Code 3 of 9 database key must be made up of all data characters in the barcode (includ-
ing the Mod check digits or prefix indicators, such as those used within the HIBC specifica-
tion).
The standard Start/Stop characters used in Code 3 of 9 symbology are not to be included.
Interleaved 2 of 5
The Interleaved 2 of 5 (I2of5) database key must be made up of all the digits in the barcode
(including the Mod check digit found in the I2of5 Case Code specification, if applicable).
Codabar
The Codabar database key must be made up of all the digits in the barcode (excluding the
Start/Stop codes).
