# Specify the priority of Device A as 10 to make sure that it is elected as the master when the IRF virtual

device is established, and save the configuration.

This command will convert the device to IRF mode and the device will reboot. Are you sure?

The device reboots automatically to switch its operating mode. After logging in to the device again,

change the member ID of the device to 2.

[Sysname] irf member 1 renumber 2

Warning: Renumbering the switch number may result in configuration change or loss. Continue?

<Sysname> reboot

The device reboots automatically to make the configuration of member ID take effect. After logging in to

the device again, create IRF-port2/1 of the device, and bind it to the physical IRF port

Ten-GigabitEthernet 2/3/0/25, and then save the configurations.

[Sysname] interface ten-gigabitethernet 2/3/0/25

[Sysname-Ten-GigabitEthernet2/3/0/25] shutdown

2) Power off the two devices. Connect them as shown in

Figure 1-10

with IRF cables. Power them on,

and the IRF is established.

3) Configure BFD MAD detection

# Create VLAN 3, and add port 1/3/0/1 on Device A (with the member ID of 1) and port 2/3/0/1 on Device

B (with the member ID of 2) to VLAN 3.
