Audio Problems
Problems with audio can usually be isolated between the Audio Signal Processing
Board (ASPB) and either:
• The AES/EBU XLR216/BNC216 Breakout panel for digital audio, or
• The Profile Audio Chassis (PAC208/216) for analog audio and the Digital
Expansion Chassis included with the PAC216, or
• The Serial I/O board for embedded audio.
AES/EBU Digital Audio Problems
Symptom: All audio is missing.
1. Check cable from ASPB to the XLR/BNC Breakout panel, connect, tighten, or
replace as necessary.
2. Run ASPB diagnostics, replace ASPB as necessary.
3. Replace Breakout panel.
Symptom: Audio is missing on one channel.
1. Check source cables to the XLR/BNC Breakout panel, connect, tighten, or replace
as necessary.
2. Move source cables from good channels to bad channels. If fault follows the cable,
replace the cable; if fault remains at the channel, replace the Breakout panel.
3. Run ASPB diagnostics, replace ASPB as necessary.
4. Replace Breakout panel.
Symptom: Audio is intermittent.
1. Check cable to XLR/BNC Breakout panel, replace as necessary.
2. Run ASPB diagnostics, replace as necessary.
3. Replace Breakout panel.
