Transferring Calls

Although transferring calls is considered a basic function of an endpoint, your Model
8601 has many advanced options for this feature. With your endpoint, you can trans-
fer to another extension or an outside line.

To Another Extension

1.

While you are on a call, tap

TRANS

to place the call on hold at the other end-

point.

2.

Enter the desired extension number.

3.

Wait for an answer, announce the call, and then tap

TRANS

to hang up.

NOTE:

If the number is busy, there is no answer, or the transfer is refused, tap

TRANS to return to the caller.

To an Outside Number

1.

Tap

TRANS

.

2.

Select an outgoing line and enter the desired telephone number.

3.

Wait for an answer, announce the call, and then tap

TRANS

to hang up.

NOTE:

If the number is busy, there is no answer, or the transfer is refused, tap

TRANS to return to the caller.

Using Reverse Transfer

The Reverse Transfer (Call Pick Up) feature allows you to answer a call that is ring-
ing or holding at another endpoint. For example, if the attendant transfers a call to you
but you have stepped away from your endpoint, you can pick up the call using another
endpoint.
To answer a call ringing holding at another endpoint:

1.

Tap .

2.

Enter the extension or hunt group number where the call is ringing or holding.
