5.3 Basic Faxing
To fax using the automatic document feeder

Press the [Fax] key to enter fax
mode.

Load the document face up into the
automatic document feeder.

Adjust the document guide plates to
fit the size of the document.

If necessary, change the resolution
setting (p. 5-14).

Using the 10-key pad, enter the fax
number of the recipient.
– The fax number of a previously
programmed recipient can also
be specified. Refer to “Dialing” on page 5-3.

Press the [Start] key to begin scanning and sending the fax.
Once transmission is finished, a beep is sounded.
If the fax could not be sent, the transmission result report is printed
(p. 7-76).
? Do you want to stop the transmission?
% To stop the transmission, press the [Stop] key.
? Do you want to cancel a scanned document queued for transmis-
sion or a fax waiting to be redialed?
% Select CANCEL RESERV. from the “FUNCTION” menu (p. 6-21).
