Preventing banners
from jamming

To keep a banner print job from jamming:

Use only the number of sheets needed for the banner.

Select the following settings to enable the printer to feed paper continuously without
jamming:

With your document open, choose File ΠPage Setup.

From the Settings pop-up menu, choose Page Attributes.

From the “Format for” pop-up menu, choose the printer.

From the Paper Size pop-up menu, choose A4 Banner or US Letter Banner.

Select an orientation.

Click OK.

Memory card cannot be inserted

Check memory card type

Make sure that the type of memory card you are using can be used in the printer. For
more information, see “Inserting a memory card” on page 70.

Check memory card
placement

See “Inserting a memory card” on page 70 to determine which slot accommodates your
memory card and to see instructions on how to insert it.

Nothing happens when memory card is inserted

Check memory card

Memory card may be
damaged

Check that there is no obvious damage to the memory card.

A digital camera may be
connected

Disconnect the PictBridge-enabled digital camera from the printer.

USB cable may not be
connected

Check the USB cable for any obvious damage.

Firmly plug the square end of the USB cable into the back of the printer.

Firmly plug the rectangular end of the USB cable into the USB port of the computer.

The USB port is marked with the USB symbol
